Couple Celebrates 55th Wedding Anniversary

CROUSE, N.C. – Dr. and Mrs. A.M. (Bud) Black of Crouse celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on October 27, 2018 at a dinner in the Crouse United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Crouse, N.C. There were 55 people in attendance. The dinner was hosted by their sons, Mel Black and Lorna Briganti of Raleigh, and Wesley Black and wife Meryl of Charlotte. Their grandchildren are Marion Black and Andrew Black of Raleigh.

The couple met at Wingate College and were married November 1, 1963. Mrs. Black is the former Anne Ware of Kannapolis and has retired from high school and community college teaching. Dr. Black is retired from real estate appraisal and university teaching. He still coaches high school basketball and is an online professor for Edison State University in New Jersey. The Blacks live in Crouse and have enjoyed all these years together. They are members of Crouse United Methodist Church.
