Two Crowned Saturday For LHS

LINCOLNTON - On Saturday (Nov. 16) 11 young ladies took the stage at the James W. Warren Citizens Center to compete for two separate titles.  Seven young ladies competed in private interview, evening wear, Wolfpack Pride wear and talent in hopes of being crowned the 2020 Miss Lincolnton High School.  Four young ladies competed in private interview, evening wear and Wolfpack Pride wear in hopes of becoming the next Miss Black and Gold.

Miss Lincolnton High School contestants were:

• Contestant 1 - Emma Evans, Talent-Vocal presentation
• Contestant 2 - Madilynne Elaine Burgin, Talent-Pointe dance
• Contestant 3 - Daytona White, Talent-Sign language song interpretation
• Contestant 4 - Carly Stanton, Talent-Instrumental presentation
• Contestant 5 - Jasmine Griff-Root, Talent-Contemporary dance 
• Contestant 6 - Jordyn Marie Powers, Talent -Lyrical dance
• Contestant 7 - Natalie Astorga, Talent-Vocal presentation

Miss Black and Gold contestants were: (No talent competition)

• Contestant 8 - Nayeli Rodriguez
• Contestant 9 - Klaraith Lopez
• Contestant 10 - Ashley Fisher
• Contestant 11 - Ryleigh Gee

This year’s pageant was directed by Amy Gates Reel who is a LHS alumni and has an impressive pageant resume. Amy has competed and directed as well as currently being a pageant Mom.  Her daughters Anistyn and Aliyah (also an LHS alumni) have years of pageant experience and multiple titles between them as well. 

The following general awards were presented at the end of the night:

• Todd Sain Memorial Essay Scholarship Winner - Daytona White ($200 Scholarship)
• Top Ad Sales - Emma Evans (Tiara, certificate and kavu bag)
• People's Choice Award - Carly Stanton (Tiara, certificate, sash and half of proceeds raised)
• Photogenic Award - Natalie Astorga (Tiara, certificate, personalized gift and sash)
• Miss Congeniality - Natalie Astorga (Tiara, certificate, personalized gift and sash)
• Wolfpack Pride Wear - Emma Evans (Tiara, certificate, custom paw print necklace and sash)
• Talent Winner - Miss LHS contestants only - Jasmine Griff-Root (Tiara, certificate, cash award and sash)
