2020 Lincoln County Graduates Parade

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Unusual times called for different ways to honor the Lincoln County Class of 2020. 

On Thursday, May 28 seniors from all four of the county high schools (East Lincoln, Lincolnton, North Lincoln, West Lincoln) cruised around the Court Square and down Main Street for the first Graduates Parade.

An old African proverb says “it takes a village to raise a child” which means that an entire community of people must interact with children for those children to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment. The villagers look out for the children.

We must say that the small villages from Lincoln County and the schools looked out for the children and came up with unique ways to honor the Class of 2020.

We don’t know what the future brings, hopefully better times, but we do hope that maybe some new “traditions” for future seniors were born during COVID-19. One thing is for sure,  this has been a year the Class of 2020 will never forget.
