LINCOLNTON, N.C. - The Partnership for Children of Lincoln and Gaston Counties (Partnership), along with Lincolnton Mayor Ed Hatley, invites you to join your voices with ours, focusing on high- quality early learning and the critical role early childhood educators play in children’s development and learning.
Sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the Week of the Young Child (WOYC), is held annually to raise awareness about the importance of the primary years (birth through age 8) and the need for high quality early care and education for all children.
This year, the needs of young children and their families and the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs are highlighted from April 6 -12, 2024, during the Week of the Young Child. Daily themes and activities for young children, families, classroom teachers and community members include:
- April 8: Music Monday!
- April 9: Tasty Tuesday!
- April 10: Work Together Wednesday
- April 11: Artsy Thursday!
- April 12: Family Friday
As parents, educators, community members, and allies, there is a place for each and every one of us in the movement for a stronger, affordable, accessible, and equitable child care system. “We are privileged to work with exemplary early childhood educators in Lincoln and Gaston Counties, and to highlight for the community the return on the investment in high-quality care for all young children. With a strong foundation, young children are better prepared and enter school confidently and ready to learn,” said Karen Anzola, Executive Director of the Partnership.
