Retired Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Kolva Passes Away
LINCOLNTON, NC – Retired LCSO K-9 Kolva died on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 according to her handler, Lt. Allen Manns (Ret).
Major Matt Lykins said, “Kolva was a big part of the beginnings of the K-9 program at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Kolva served the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Lincoln County for four and half years before retiring in 2023.”
During Kolva’s tenure she helped with drug searches, article searches, tracking, apprehensions, and public demonstrations. Kolva helped detect countless amounts of narcotics that were removed from the streets.
Most importantly, she touched many people’s lives in the public whether it was at schools, National Night Out, The Apple Festival and many other public events in the county.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will miss Kolva and are proud to say she was one of us.
